What is wrong with so many of our fellow American citizens today? Surely, the largest and greatest threat to our way of life is pounding, or rather slashing and bombing, at the door everyday, everywhere in the civilized world. Yet, much of the American public, and especially the Democratic Party, seem oblivious to this threat.
As an ordinary citizen, one who holds no economic or political power other than one vote, I'm stunned by the apathy and, in many instances, the non-belief of those who can not see the worldwide pattern of Islamo-fascist terror. It's as though these good people can not link the various attacks throughout the world as one concentrated, coordinated movement to destroy our Western culture and way of life, only to be replaced by the dictatorship of Islamo-fascisim.
Politically, in the United States, our safety as a nation and as a people rests in the hands of those elected to Congress and the presidency. Yet, nearly half of our voting citizens vote for a party which demonstrates no integrated plan for our national security, acknowledges no organized, worlwide effort by Islamo-fascists to muder us, and has as its primary focus, a deep hatred for the President of the Unitied States, a hatred which seemingly rises above even our own national security.
The leadership of the Democratic Party is frightening. The far-left movement in this country is frightening. They would have us believe that the reason for worldwide Islamic terror is U.S. policy in the Middle East and Georeg W. Bush. They would have us believe that a Democratically controlled government would put a stop to much of this terror. We would then be able to negotiate with Hammas, Hezballah, and the likes of all the bin Ladens out there ready to murder us.
The slaughter of thousands of innocents, from Bali to Spain, to Great Britian, to India and Thailand, to the United States itself, is not enough proof for the Democratic leadership to understand the nature of the greatest threat we have encountered in our history. The Democratic leadership and the far-left believe we have only a police action on our hands and that President Bush single-handedly has created thousands of new "terrorists". If only John Kerry had been elected president, none of this would be happening and we would have already captured Osama bin Laden, thereby extingusing the Islamic terror network.
Most of the MSM does not report on the weekly (should I say daily?) Islamo-fascist attacks around the world. But, the MSM does a fine job of reporting every "transgression" of the Bush administration, whether it be a highly classified secret electronic surveillance program or a highly classified secret program to "follow the money" of the terror network. To the MSM, George W. Bush is the terrorist, not Al Qadea, Hammas, Hezballah, Islamic Jihad, etc.
I can only pray that our great nation, all of our citizens, wake up to this civilizational threat and focus on the true nature of this evil. It must be defeated at all costs. Those of you who do not believe this, those of you who believe gay marriage and abortion-rights and free medical care for all are the great issues of the day, know this: none of these things will matter if we do not wake up to, and acknowledge, the murderous Islamic war currently being fought against our nation and the Western world.
